Description
This course, built through a joint industry project between operating companies, provides a strong foundation for understanding how to manage unauthorized activities near pipelines.
This course is based on the Unauthorized Activities Damage Prevention Competency Standard (a part of the Canadian Pipeline Competency System [CPCS]). This course is applicable to field and office personnel involved in the response to a suspected unauthorized activity around their company's infrastructure.

- A Foundational understanding of key concepts related to third-party activities and their associated risks to the underground infrastructure
- An overview of the typical process for responding to unauthorized activity
- How to determine if an activity is unauthorized using a multi-criteria test
- Understanding the options for next steps to resolve and follow-up on unauthorized activities
- Reporting of unauthorized activities to regulators, internal stakeholders, and industry organizations (e.g., CCGA for the DIRT report)
- Knowledge self-checks and scenario-based assessments
