The PBOK Centre for Pipeline Knowledge (CPK) is eager to present at a light sculpture at Beakerhead 2016, a festival smash-up of science, art, and engineering. The sculpture, Energizing Calgary, will be on display on Stephen Avenue Mall in Calgary’s downtown core after work hours from 5:00pm to 8:00pm from September 14 to 16.
The play of light and shadow will engage children and adults as they consider the aspects of math, physics, and engineering that were used to build the piece. Our anticipation is for the sculptured cityscape and projected chinook winds to resonate with Calgarians and remind people of the optimism that defines our city. Energizing Calgary is accompanied by a quote by Walt Whitman, “Keep your face always toward the sunshine, and shadows will fall behind you.”
